From Ethiopia's renowned Guji zone in the Odo Shakiso district comes a remarkable Ethiopian Heirloom from Ismael Hassen Aredo’s Kayon Mountain Coffee. Ismael, a dedicated coffee producer since 2012, cultivates this exceptional coffee on his expansive 500-hectare farm, spanning the villages of Taro and Sewana in the Oromia region of Guji.

Equipped with nurseries and state-of-the-art on-site processing facilities, Ismael oversees a team of approximately 25 full-time staff and 300 seasonal workers. Recognising the importance of community, he provides free transportation for his workers as well as financial support for local schools and administrative buildings. To compete with labour demands from a nearby mining village, Ismael and his family offer higher wages to their pickers, ensuring loyalty and consistent quality year after year.

This lot showcases the beauty of classic natural processing. Cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness, meticulously sorted, and carefully placed on raised beds to sun-dry naturally, allowing optimal flavour development.

The result is a coffee with a delicate and refined profile: exceptionally clean, featuring jammy fruit undertones harmoniously balanced by graceful floral notes. A testament to the dedication and artistry of Guji coffee production.
