Proudly presenting this exquisite mechanical washed lot from our dear friends at Jack Murat. This coffee genuinely surprised us in the 2025 harvest — their washed lots have always been clean and dependable, but this year it truly wowed us. With minimal intervention, it highlights the Murat family’s pioneering growing techniques while showcasing the singular terroir of Mareeba.
Unlike a traditional washed process that relies on soaking and fermentation tanks, this lot undergoes mechanical demucilaging. The mucilage is gently stripped from the parchment using precision equipment, eliminating the need for large volumes of water and avoiding any contamination of runoff. It’s a cleaner, more sustainable approach that also preserves more of the coffee’s natural character.
The result is a cup that feels delicate yet expressive, with vanilla and milk chocolate at its core, lifted by the brightness of yellow stone fruits and Jack Murat's signature sugar cane sweetness — a distinctive expression of both innovation and Australian soil. Perfect for both milk-based drinks and via drip methods.
