We’re proud to present our very first Australian-grown coffee — Batch 32 from the Jack Murat family.

Grown in Mareeba, Far North Queensland, this is one of the few specialty coffees produced on Australian soil — and one that’s close to our hearts, as we’ve had the privilege of visiting the farm ourselves.

The Jack Murat family has been farming this land for over a century, growing crops like sugarcane and corn. In 2014, the next generation shifted their focus to coffee, with a clear vision: to pursue quality and push the boundaries of Australian coffee production.

Since then, the family has embraced innovation, incorporating technologies like colour sorters and carbohydrate testing to refine their processes. This year marks an exciting milestone — their first release of fermentation-processed coffees.

Batch 32 showcases this evolution beautifully. Ripe Catuai cherries undergo a 7-day anaerobic fermentation in stainless steel tanks fitted with airlock valves, before being mechanically dried. The result is a clean and expressive Australian coffee that shines with its yellow fruit clarity — a standout moment in the journey of Australian specialty coffee.
