Introducing Brew Methods Atelier

This might just be the most exciting blog post we’ve ever written—because after nine years of existing purely online, Brew Methods finally has a home.
We’re proud to introduce Brew Methods Atelier.
For those who’ve followed us for a while, you’ll know Brew Methods has always been about sharing coffee in a quiet, simple way. We started in 2016 with an Instagram account—no plan, no real goal—just posting photos of coffee brewing, equipment we loved, and the kinds of small moments that felt worth slowing down for.
Over time, it grew into a community. People from all over connected with us, sent messages, asked questions. But for a long time, that’s all it was—an online space.
In 2020, we hit our next big milestone: launching our website, brewmethods.com.au. The idea was simple—writing blogs. Every week, we shared something new: brewing guides, product features, stories from roasters, and thoughts on all things coffee. It wasn’t about selling things, it was about writing what we knew and loved, hoping it might help someone else along their coffee journey.
But the same questions kept coming up:
“Where can I buy this brewer?”
“Do you ship overseas?”
So in 2022, we added a store to the website. Nothing too big—just a small selection of products we believed in. Beautiful gear, sourced from talented makers around the world. A mix of essentials and the kinds of things that make brewing at home feel a little more special.
We weren’t selling heaps—just enough to keep things ticking along. Slowly bringing in more products. Doing what we love, at our own pace, and with pride.
Then came the next question:
“Do you sell coffee?”
In 2024, we finally wanted to say yes to that. So, we picked up a Kaffelogic roaster and started roasting. It began as a small offering, but the response surprised us. Before long, coffee became our best-selling category.
One roaster turned into two Kaffelogics. Then we added an Aillio Bullet to keep up with demand. Today, we have over 20 micro-lots on offer, plus a coffee subscription.
Still, it was all being run from home. The garage was full, the spare bedroom was full—at one point, we even had products stored in the lounge room. It got to a point where it just wasn’t sustainable anymore.
So now, after all these years, we finally have a proper home. And we couldn’t be more proud.
Brew Methods Atelier is located in Yarraville, Melbourne - it's not a cafe and it's not quite a shop either—it’s a space where we can connect with the coffee community in person—through events, workshops, and soon, coffee classes.
It’s also where we’ll be roasting all of our coffee moving forward and dispatching our orders from. The Atelier features a coffee bar where we’re always happy to brew something for anyone who drops in, and a beautiful showroom with some of our most popular products on display.
Customers visiting during events or classes can purchase items on the spot. It won’t be open to the public like a regular retail shop, but we do plan to introduce click and collect soon for online orders. And once a month, we’ll host cupping sessions open to anyone interested in tasting and learning more.
Our first event at the Atelier was a special one. We hosted Leaves Coffee Roasters from Tokyo—a full circle moment after our own bar takeover with them in Japan last year. This time, we welcomed them to Melbourne.
Overall, we couldn’t be more excited to finally have a space where people can experience Brew Methods in real life.
To slow down. To share a coffee. To connect.
We can’t wait to welcome you in.
